Updated: Jan 21, 2020

Celebrating their 25th year of operating, Hunters Quay Holiday Village in Dunoon is a must-visit for anyone who wants a weekend break in the heart of Argyll. The fantastic resort facilities and range of activities are attracting a large volume of people.

Opening in 1994, the number of people using the facilities at the Holiday Village has grown year-on-year. For the leisure facilities alone, General Manager, Steven Mure said: “On average, around 1,000 people use the swimming pool so we’re looking at around 60,000 per year.”

Overall, the park employs around 70 to 80 members of staff with 40 to 45 of them working in the leisure facilities. The Holiday Park is also seeing an increase of people using the onsite restaurant, Hunters Bar & Grill, with around 20,000 to 25,000 people dining there each year.

From providing a whole range of activities and facilities, Hunters Quay has something for everyone of every age.

Mure said: “We cater for everybody from two to 60 due to the range of activities we offer.”

“So many people use so many different things: from people from the local community using the Kids Soft Play, holiday makers who make the use of activities in the short space of time when they are with use and owners who own the caravans might come down every second weekend and use the facilities.”

There’s plans for expansion on the horizon to expand the holiday park which already covers 185 acres. New pods will be added to allow more visitors to stay and possibly with the option of expanding the restaurant and swimming pool.
